What to wear for a maternity photoshoot

Are you dreaming of having a professional maternity photoshoot to show off your beautiful bump and capture this special time before your baby arrives?

If so, you may be wondering…

What to wear to Your Maternity photo Shoot?

The style and colour of your clothes have an incredible impact on the way your photos will look and feel.

You photo shoot is all about you being pregnant and you want your bump, yourself and the connection with your partner to be a centre of attention.

So, when choosing outfits for your session, please make sure are not wearing any patterns or logos which can be very distracting from what’s the most important, YOU!.

Ok, so you know the main rule, but you may still worry…

what if I don’t have a beautiful maternity dress and don’t want to spend extra money to buy one just for the photoshoot?

I hear you girl.

Good quality maternity gowns can be very expensive, varying from £100 to £500-£600 and there is a small chance you will wear it again as they are usually very long or see-through and probably not very practical.

That’s exactly why I provide the dresses for you.

When booking your maternity photo shoot with me, you can choose any dress you like from my rather large selection of beautiful handmade maternity gowns.

I order the dresses from all over the world just so you don’t have to worry about spending money on a dress for one occasion, the shipping or customs charges.

Here are a few of my favourite shops specialising in stunning maternity gowns…

How to choose a perfect maternity dress for my photoshoot?

It is very important to choose the dress that matches your personal style, your body shape and also your beauty type.

To help as many women as I can, in my collection of maternity dresses you can find pretty much every style and colour (except for black as for now)

You can choose between:

Glamour maternity gowns…

Tulle Maternity Gowns…

Lace/boho Maternity gowns…

Velvet maternity gowns…

Jersey Maternity gowns…

I think I covered all styles and colours of the maternity dresses I have, but you may still be curious about…

What should my husband/partner and children wear to my maternity photoshoot?

Depending on the style and colour of your chosen maternity dress, your partner and your children should wear something matching the atmosphere and the colour palette of the location/backdrop.

Because the maternity gowns are quite stylish, your other half cannot just wear jeans, t-shirt and trainers, unless you choose to have casual outfit yourself (which can be very cute as well).

I always advice my clients to imagine they are going to get married again or for the first time, because for me having a baby together is even stronger bond than any marriage vows.

So, here are a few examples of what my clients wore for their photoshoot…

If you are still unsure, contact me and I will be delighted to help you.

Love,

Magda O Photography
