When is the best time to book a maternity photoshoot?
The ideal time to book your maternity photoshoot is between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy, when your bump is beautifully defined and you’re still feeling comfortable. As a Cheltenham maternity photographer, I recommend booking early to secure availability, especially if you’re hoping for a weekend session or a specific time of year.
When should I book my newborn photography session?
Newborn photography is best booked during pregnancy, ideally in your second or early third trimester. Newborn sessions take place within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are naturally sleepier and more settled. I offer a flexible booking system based on your due date, ensuring a calm and unhurried experience once your baby arrives.
What if my baby is older than two weeks?
That’s absolutely fine — and still incredibly special. While the first two weeks are ideal for very sleepy, curled newborn portraits, sessions with babies older than 14 days are just as meaningful. Your baby may be more awake for parts of the session, which often allows us to capture beautiful eye contact, first smiles and early expressions. These images tell a slightly different story, but one that is just as precious and timeless. I gently adapt each session to your baby, ensuring a calm, relaxed experience and photographs you’ll treasure forever.
