If you are a little bit like me and love magical locations, Gloucestershire is full of breathtaking places you can go and visit with your family.

You can also ask me to come along and be your family photographer (just saying).

Ok, let’s dive in, shall we?

My personal favourite Snowdrops location near cheltenham is…

Cerney House Gardens

(North Cerney, Cirencester GL7 7BX)

Cerney House Gardens is a classic, romantic, secret garden located only 25 minutes drive from Cheltenham.

They are open 7 days a week, 364 days a year, rain or shine. 10am-7pm (or daylight hours during the Winter months). Including Bank Holidays.

They run a self-service tea-room where you can find a selection of home-made cakes including: Lemon Drizzle, Millionaire Shortbread, Coffee and Walnut, Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies as well as a selection of teas, coffee, biscuits and snacks.

Number two on my list of…

Fairytale snowdrops locations in the Cotswolds is…

Painswick Rococo Garden

Painswick Rococo Garden is a scenic 18th-century garden with blankets of snowdrops and beautiful views. The garden is perfect for family days out, there are so many attractions for little ones!! There is an amazing maze (not only for children), a rustic play area, a fairytale castle and ‘the magical houses’ as they’ve been called – which are perfect for hide and seek.

The Garden is open daily during February. Dogs on short leads are very welcome. Their opening times are as follow:

January: reopen 20 Jan, daily, 10 – 5pm

February: daily, 10 – 5pm

March to September: Wed – Sun, 10 – 5pm. During Gloucestershire school holidays they are open daily.

There is also a café which is only operating on the days the Garden is open and it currently closes at 4pm. Breakfast options are served from 10am and lunches between 12-2pm.

The last but definitely not least on my list of…

the most magical snowdrops locations in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds is…

Colesbourne Gardens

Colesbourne, Cheltenham GL53 9NP

magical-cotswold-location

Colesbourne Gardens covers over 10 acres of private gardens and woodland walks. with a wide rage of snowdrops and other spring flowers.

The Gardens are a private land so they are open only on weekends. This year, they were open from 27th/28th January until the last weekend on 24th/25th February. But it says on their website that, “If the snowdrops allow us, we may open for one further weekend at the beginning of March, but details will be posted on our blog if this is the case.”

So if you missed it, just be ready for next year as you will not regret visiting Colesbourne Gardens!!

Prices;

Adults £10.00, children under 16 go free. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up and pay on the gate.

Opening Times: Entrance times are from 1pm to 4pm.

The gardens close at 4.30pm.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a short lead.

Refreshments are available in the courtyard building. Each weekend a different charity will be providing hot drinks and cakes in order to raise much needed funds for both local and national causes.

Toilet facilities are located in the courtyard with a plant sales stall.

I hope you enjoyed this little blog and are excited to see some of those magical locations. Or maybe you visited them all already… If so, please let me know in the comments, which one is your favourite. Or maybe you know other places I haven’t been to. Just let me know so I can add them to my bucket list.

Would you like me to write more blogs about fairytale locations in Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds?

Thank you for reading.

Love,
